When an official proclamation is made for the American flag to be lowered to half-staff there are several flag flying situations which make it virtually impossible to comply. For example it is impossible to lower the American flag to half-staff in the following applications:

Flag Set on the Wall of Your House
Indoor Floor Stand Flag Set
The accepted solution is to tie a long black ribbon to the top of the flagpole allowing it to drape over the American flag. Our Black Mourning Ribbon is hemmed on all four sides and made with the same fade resistant invista nylon 66 used in our commercial quality Endura-Nylon American flags.

The product is of excellent quality and well made. Delivered as promised. Reasonably priced. Enables half-mast compliance for pole mounted flags. Important for our Home Owner's Association that prohibits in-ground flag poles even to fly an American flag.
This is the perfect answer to the question: "How can I display the U.S. flag at half mast if I only have a single outside mast?" The ribbon is long enough to be noticed, and durable and weather-proof enough to be used for many years. It has a brass grommet at the top for ease of use. A must have.
