In July, Governor Laura Kelly, in accordance with Executive Order #20-30, ordered flags throughout the State of Kansas to be flown at half-staff on all state buildings, grounds, and facilities from sunup to sundown on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, in honor of former Kansas Speaker of the House Marvin Williams Barkis who passed away on July 19, 2024.
