Governor Tim Walz has directed all United States and Minnesota flags to continue to fly at half-staff at all state buildings in the State of Minnesota until sunset on Saturday, June 28, the day of interment, in honor and remembrance of House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman.
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to join in lowering their flags.

A formidable public servant and a fixture of the state Capitol, Melissa Hortman woke up every day determined to make our state a better place,” said Governor Walz. “She served the people of Minnesota with grace, compassion, and tirelessness. Minnesota’s thoughts are with her loved ones.”
