Today, in accordance with the United States flag code, Governor Josh Shapiro ordered United States and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds in Berks and Montgomery Counties at half-staff immediately today, October 3, 2024, to honor Keystone Water Rescue Lieutenant and Black Rock Volunteer Firefighter Brian D. Wampole who died on Sunday, September 29, 2024. The flags shall be lowered to half-staff until sunset on the date of interment, Monday, October 7, 2024. All Pennsylvania residents are invited to participate in this tribute.
