I am directing flags be flown at half-staff Monday, March 9, 2020 as a mark of respect for fallen Forest Ranger James Owen Hall, who died in the line of duty on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

Forest Ranger Hall’s job involved fighting wildfires for the Alabama Forestry Commission, as well as working with landowners to conduct prescribed burns and install fire lanes. In addition, he served six years in the United States Army. We offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, his community and his colleagues at the Alabama Forestry Commission.

The flags should be flown at half-staff on the day of his interment on Monday, March 9, 2020 until sunset.
