Governor McMaster ordered the lowering of all U.S. and South Carolina state flags be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday August 8, 2023. This is in honor and tribute to Officer Matthew Logan Hare of the Easley Police Department who passed in the line of duty.

The Governor requests all flags over the buildings of the political subdivisions of South Carolina similarly be flown at half-staff for this purpose.
