By order of the Governor and in accordance with the Honoring Hometown Heroes Act, flags over the Tennessee State Capitol and in Macon County shall be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, August 2 in memory of Sgt. William Cherry, a Macon County Sheriff’s Office sergeant who was killed in the line of duty on Saturday, July 29.
