America's 250th Celebration of the
1776 Signing of Declaration of Independence
As America approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, the nation is preparing for a historic celebration called America250, honoring the founding ideals of liberty, democracy, and unity. Spearheaded by the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission, plans include parades, reenactments, public art, educational programs, and nationwide events, with Philadelphia—birthplace of the Declaration of Independence—serving as a central hub. American Freedom Train of 1976

In 1976, as part of America’s Bicentennial celebration, the American Freedom Train traveled across the country as a moving tribute to the nation’s heritage. Painted in vibrant red, white, and blue, the train carried over 500 national treasures, including the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and iconic artifacts from American history. It visited all 48 contiguous states, inspiring patriotism and unity coast to coast.
Reflecting on that time, the owner of American Flags Express, Thomas D'Amico shared:
“I remember when America celebrated its 200th Anniversary in 1976. I was working at a publishing company at the time. To promote America’s birthday there were patriotically decorated steam trains, which ran across the country to celebrate such an historic event. Our editorial staff and I chased it through several states taking photos for our publication. It’s amazing to be able to see another celebration of America 50 years later.”
Today, as we honor another milestone in our nation's journey, we look back with pride—and forward with renewed appreciation for the values that have shaped the United States.
