This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the Maryland Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately. This action is for Detective Paul Hoke of the Baltimore County Police Department who died on Friday, January 2, 2026, from a medical emergency suffered while in the line of duty on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Information regarding the raising of the flag will be issued at a later time.
