Governor Mike Kehoe ordered the flag of the United States and the flag of Missouri be flown at full staff at all government buildings in Missouri on Monday, January 20, 2025, in honor of Inauguration Day. Flags will return to half-staff on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

The directive aligns with federal statute, which states that flags should be prominently displayed during specific occasions, including the Inauguration Day for a U.S. President. State government departments are responsible for distributing this information throughout your department for compliance with this order.

Per U.S. Flag Code, flags have been at half-staff since President Carter passed away Dec. 29 at the age of 100. Citizens are still allowed to follow the US Flag Code precedent if they prefer.
