Governor Josh Shapiro ordered Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds across Pennsylvania to remain flying at half-staff in honor of Pfc. Krystofer Lee Lopez, who died during a training incident at Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County on March 12, 2026. Flags were already at half-staff to honor Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Corporal Timothy J. O’Connor Jr. Pfc. Lopez, a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and the 947th Quartermaster Company, served as a 31B military police officer with the LEAD Directorate of Emergency Services Law Enforcement Division and was posthumously promoted to the rank of Specialist. The flags shall remain at half-staff until the date of interment, which has not yet been announced. All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
