"I am directing flags be flown at half-staff on Sunday, December 22, 2019, as a mark of respect for Ensign Joshua Kaleb Watson, who was killed in the line of duty in the tragic shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola on Friday, December 6, 2019.

"Let us remember the life and service of Ensign Watson, who died as a hero trying to protect his fellow service members. We offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, friends and community."

The flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on the day of his interment on Sunday, December 22, 2019.
