I am directing flags be flown at half-staff as a mark of respect for the 23 lives lost to the violent and unforgiving tornadoes in Lee County. Sunday afternoon, tornadoes ravaged parts of Alabama, leaving behind trails of devastation and tragic loss of life. I have assured the people of Lee County that, together, we will overcome this devastation.

The flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on Sunday March 10, 2019.
