Governor Katie Hobbs has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in honor of Sgt. Andrew Southard, of the U.S. Army Special Operations Forces, elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, and one of the casualties in the November 10 helicopter crash during a training mission in the Mediterranean Sea.

"It is with profound sadness that we learned Sergeant Andrew Southard, of the United States Army Special Operations Forces, was one of the victims in the November 10 helicopter crash during a training mission in the Mediterranean Sea. We stand proud of his service and support his family and friends, along with the other victims of this horrible tragedy," said Governor Katie Hobbs.
