January 4-11, 2024 - Half-Staff Alert - Iowa
Gov. Kim Reynolds extends the order that all flags in Iowa are to be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Thursday, January 11, 2024, following the interment of 6th grader Ahmir Jolliff who was killed in the shooting at Perry High School. Governor Reynolds is extending the order in honor of Jolliff, his family, and the Perry community.
Flags will be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be at half-staff on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state.
Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
