In accordance with Executive Order 20-30, Governor Laura Kelly has ordered flags throughout the State of Kansas to be flown at half-staff from sunup to sundown on November 1, 2021 in honor of Butler County Patrol Deputy Stephen Evans.

Deputy Evans was killed in a car crash while on duty for the City of Burns on October 25, 2021. Services will be held Monday, November 1, 2021.

"My thoughts are with Deputy Evans' wife, children, and loved ones during this difficult time," said Governor Laura Kelly. "Deputy Evans served his community with compassion - I know his legacy will not be forgotten."
