Update: Please be advised that the date of interment for Waltham Police Officer Paul Tracey has been set for Friday, December 15, 2023. As such Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flags at all state buildings should remain at half-staff until sunset, Friday, December 15, 2023, and return to full staff following that time.

Please be advised that in honor and remembrance of Waltham Police Officer Paul Tracey, who was killed in the line of duty yesterday, Wednesday December 6, 2023, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag shall be flown at half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately, Thursday December 7, 2023 until the date of interment. [Please note this will extend the current half-staff order set to expire at sunset on Thursday December 7, 2023 (tonight).]

This gubernatorial order applies to:

1. The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls

2. Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings

3. All state military installations
