Today, by executive order, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak ordered flags of the United States and the State of Nevada to be flown at half-staff at the State Capital and state public buildings and grounds from sunrise until sunset on Friday, August 6, 2021, as a mark of solemn respect and in remembrance of Nevada State Trooper Micah May, whose funeral is being held tomorrow in Las Vegas.

“Today, the State of Nevada mourns the loss of State Trooper Micah May, who passed away while bravely protecting his community,” said Gov. Sisolak. “Kathy and I continue to extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, his family, his loved ones, and the entire law enforcement community during this incredibly difficult time.”

On July 29, State Trooper Micah May succumbed to his injuries after being struck while attempting to deploy “stop sticks” intended to puncture the tires of a stolen vehicle that was in pursuit.
