Governor Shapiro ordered Pennsylvania flags at the state capitol to half-staff August 22, 2023 to honor firefighter and first responder Shawn Giles.

UPDATE:

Governor Josh Shapiro has ordered the US and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds across Pennsylvania to immediately fly at half-staff in honor North East Township Fuller Hose Company volunteer firefighter, Shawn Giles, who died in the line of duty on August 20, 2023

The flags shall be lowered to half-staff until the date of interment which has yet to be announced.

All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
