Today, Governor Josh Shapiro ordered the United States and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds in Northampton County to immediately fly at half-staff in honor of Lower Saucon Township firefighter John Kalynych who died in the line of duty on August 27, 2023.

The flags shall be lowered to half-staff until the date of interment, which has not yet been announced.

All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
