By order of the Governor, flags over the State Capitol are to fly at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in honor of Tennessee State Trooper and Executive Protection Unit member Aaron Rumford. Rumford was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash last week. Governor Lee said “Aaron devoted his life to protecting others and was one of the kindest individuals we have ever had the pleasure of knowing.” Rumford is being laid to rest on Wednesday in Dickson.
