Description

When an official proclamation is made for the American flag to be lowered to half-staff there are several flag flying situations which make it virtually impossible to comply. For example it is impossible to lower the American flag to half-staff in the following applications:

Telescoping Flagpoles

Flag Set on the Wall of Your House

Indoor Floor Stand Flag Set

The accepted solution is to tie a long black ribbon to the top of the flagpole allowing it to drape over the American flag. Our Black Mourning Ribbon is hemmed on all four sides and made with the same fade resistant invista nylon 66 used in our commercial quality Endura-Nylon American flags.

  • Ribbons are made in accordance to memorial standards
  • Ribbon measures 5' x 2" (Actual length is 10 feet, the fabric is folded in half with 1 grommet placed at the top fold for attaching to pole.)

    I only have a residential pole attached to the house so this ribbon is perfect for my needs. It seems the our Flags have been at half staff most of the year so this is how I can show my support.

    I was never able to fly my flag hast mast as it is a wall mount flag. The black mourning ribbon lets me display my flag every day! It is a quality product.

    Love your site and have purchased flags as well as this Black Mourning Ribbon in time for 9/11. My only issue would be the high shipping cost (the shipping was the same price as the ribbon)
