Today, in accordance with the United States flag code, Governor Josh Shapiro ordered United States and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds in Carbon County at half-staff immediately today, October 30, 2024, to honor Lehighton Borough Mayor and retired Pennsylvania State Police trooper Clark A. "Shorty" Ritter who died on Sunday, October 23, 2024. The flags shall be lowered to half-staff until sunset on the date of interment, Thursday, October 31, 2024. All Pennsylvania residents are invited to participate in this tribute.
