Recognized as the most durable of all flag fabrics, our 2-Ply Polyester American flags are your best choice for extreme winds and intense sun. If you are not in a high wind area, we recommend our Endura Nylon American Flag, which is just as fade resistant as our 2-Ply Polyester, but made from 200 denier nylon which flies better in average to high wind conditions.

Flying Flags on Vehicles
We highly advise against flying any flag on a vehicle except in slow-moving parades. If you're driving 45 mph into a 15 mph wind the combined effect is 60 mph. On the expressway the combined effect can easily exceed 75 mph, category one hurricane winds! At that speed grommets can fail and flags fly off onto another drivers windshield. Flag life is dependent on many factors when being used on a vehicle. Factors include vehicle turbulence, flag is flown in slipstream or wind shadow and combined vehicle speed and wind speed/heading.
This flag lasted a year in a very rural and windy locale outside Temecula wine country. Extreme sun exposure as well. Was a little frayed and faded. I view a year of use on our ranch as excellent..
GREAT quality flags! We live in Western Nebraska and the wind blows nearly every day. We have a fleet of 7 poles, our flags fly 24/7 @ our business yard. We have been going through the flags trying out new vendors in search of a WELL MADE flag. This is it, the search is over! 1st purchase put up 5/22/25 no problems as of 8/11/25 so we ordered more. These are heavy duty and it takes a nice breeze to fly them, but they are holding up far better than any other! God Bless America!!
This flag holds up very well in our extremely windy area.
I fly my flag on a concrete mixer in Boston and it stands up pretty good unless I on the highway quite a bit and then it tends to get frayed on the ends even though I try and buy the best but I found this flag compared to many others I've tried the most hearty and long-lasting I get two to three months out of it before I have to replace
Proud to display your flag in front of my house,Thank you!
Great
Beautifully made to last while not getting wrapped around the pole due to winds.
Over the years I keep coming back to get my flags from American Express. They are high quality and last longer than flags I used to buy years ago.
We live on the eastern coast coast of Lake Michigan, and the north west winds can gust up to 70 mph. The nylon flags we were getting would be frayed and unacceptable in four to six months. This flag should handle the weather with no problem. We fly the flag everyday and needed this well made flag.
