Today, Governor Josh Shapiro ordered the United States and Commonwealth flags on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings, and grounds to immediately fly at half-staff in honor of Philadelphia Police Officer Richard Mendez, who died in the line of duty on Thursday, October 12.

The United States and Commonwealth flags shall fly at half-staff until sunset on the date of interment, which has not yet been announced. 

All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
