February 14, 2024 - March 1, 2024 - Half-Staff Alert - Wyoming

Governor Gordon has ordered both the U.S and Wyoming flags to be lowered to half-staff statewide on Friday, March 1 from sunrise to sunset in honor and memory of Sergeant Nevada Krinkee of the Sheridan Police Department. Sergeant Krinkee was killed in the line of duty on February 13. He will be interred on March 1 in Sheridan.

Governor Gordon has ordered both the U.S and Wyoming flags to be lowered to half-staff immediately at the Capitol and Sheridan County in honor and memory of Sergeant Nevada Krinkee, who was killed in the line of duty on February 13.

Once a date of interment has been announced, the Governor's office will send out an additional notification for flags to be lowered to half-staff statewide on that date. Flags will be returned to full-staff at sunset on the day of interment.

The Governor has issued the following statement:

I join all of Wyoming in mourning the loss of Sheridan Police Sergeant Nevada Krinkee. This senseless killing is a solemn reminder of the selfless risks our law enforcement officers take each day when they put on the badge. Jennie and I extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Sergeant Krinkee, the Sheridan Police Department, and the entire law enforcement community.”

Please note that this notice is only for two locations in the state - at the Capitol Building and in Sheridan County. A full-state flag notification will follow later.
