Recognized as the most durable of all flag fabrics, our 2-Ply Polyester American flags are your best choice for extreme winds and intense sun. If you are not in a high wind area, we recommend our Endura Nylon American Flag, which is just as fade resistant as our 2-Ply Polyester, but made from 200 denier nylon which flies better in average to high wind conditions.

Flying Flags on Vehicles
We highly advise against flying any flag on a vehicle except in slow-moving parades. If you're driving 45 mph into a 15 mph wind the combined effect is 60 mph. On the expressway the combined effect can easily exceed 75 mph, category one hurricane winds! At that speed grommets can fail and flags fly off onto another drivers windshield. Flag life is dependent on many factors when being used on a vehicle. Factors include vehicle turbulence, flag is flown in slipstream or wind shadow and combined vehicle speed and wind speed/heading.
This is an excellent flag for very windy and high wind gusts applications which we experience frequently right on the water on Barnegat Bay NJ. Under these conditions the flag lasts around 7 months. Over the many years it is the only flag that stands up to these conditions.
fast ship I get about 3 months on walkover to beach right on ocean. no others last half as long .
Love the flags but we get really high winds here. We need to reorder every 6 months.
I live in an extremely windy area . Normally flags last about a month . My last flag from here lasted 9 months.
It's windy between Albuquerque & Santa Fe on the north side of the Sandia Mountains the summer sunshine is brutal and the winters are often cold (and windy). I have to replace my flag generally every 8 to 9 months because the winds just rip the "bars" end to shreds and the brutal summer sunshine dulls the colors. But the flags I get from American Flag Express are the most durable on the market and the service is absolutely wonderful - order on a Thursday and have the new flag up on Tuesday morning. If I had a suggestion, it would be to add even more reinforcement on the "bars" end of the flag (opposite the grommets).
At our VFW post we fly an American Flag 24 hours a day all year long. The flags we get from American Flags Express are the longest lasting I have found for our weather conditions and winds. Not only in resisting fraying but they hold the colors as well if not better than any I've had.
As always... the experience was perfect. Received what I expected and within the time frame. Thank you!!
