Recognized as the most durable of all flag fabrics, our 2-Ply Polyester American flags are your best choice for extreme winds and intense sun. If you are not in a high wind area, we recommend our Endura Nylon American Flag, which is just as fade resistant as our 2-Ply Polyester, but made from 200 denier nylon which flies better in average to high wind conditions.

Flying Flags on Vehicles
We highly advise against flying any flag on a vehicle except in slow-moving parades. If you're driving 45 mph into a 15 mph wind the combined effect is 60 mph. On the expressway the combined effect can easily exceed 75 mph, category one hurricane winds! At that speed grommets can fail and flags fly off onto another drivers windshield. Flag life is dependent on many factors when being used on a vehicle. Factors include vehicle turbulence, flag is flown in slipstream or wind shadow and combined vehicle speed and wind speed/heading.
I purchased my 3'x5' flag nearly a year ago. I mounted it on a homemade metal flag pole mounted in the middle of my truck bed. I flew this flag everyday during my work commute and daily chores. I never exceeded speeds of 65. This flag withstood amazing torture. By accident while removing my flag late one night months ago I tracked mud and stepped on several spots of the flag, I simply put it in a washing machine and presto! It looked new. After nearly a year of punishing, old faithful caught on one of its mount bolt's threads and began to tatter in one corner. Out of respect for the stars and stripes I repaired it and retired it to a wall in my man cave. Now I await a 5x8 poly dura reinforced flag. These flags are worth every cent. The customer service is excellent and their work is beautiful. Dont go cheap with these flags, get the extra reinforced double poly gigantic star spangled banner you can dream of!
It is too early to review the flag and its capabilities. The flag is flying on a 20' pole overseeing the Atlantic Ocean. We are very impressed with what appears to be significant stitching that may hold the flag together when flying within our average 8 to 12 mph winds.
My home is windswept throughout most of the year and I need a quality US flag. American Flags Express sells the best, longest lasting flags I've ever purchased! Plus their half staff notifications via email is an excellent service.
I'm only rating this with four stars till I see how long it lasts in our windy area. My last flag said it was for windy area's and didn't last six months.....time will tell.
We had some very strong winds here many days in a row and I am very pleased that the flag had no problems in the wind, our previous flag would have never survived the winds we would have had to take it down. We are proud to fly this great quality.
Down here is south Florida I go through a lot of flags due to extreme sun, rain and wind. Our last flag which is American made by a well known manufacturer only last 6-8 months before fading and tearing. so I decided to give this flag a shot. As soon as I opened the package I was impressed by its apparent quality. I hope I told up as well as it appears to be made. I love the reinforcing where it counts because that is where most tears in my flags start. BTW, I always had great success with the flags I purchased from these folks in all my years in upstate NY.
excellent product I buy one a year instead of two or three
